Abstract

The nickel ore mining process, especially at the production stage, must pay attention to the level of slope stability in order to create a safe and conductive mining environment. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the level of mine slope stability which is influenced by physical and mechanical properties of the soil in the north block at PT. Manunggal Sarana Surya Pratama, Boenaga Village, Lasolo Kepulauan District, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The lothology in this research area consist of a limonite zone that affects the slip plane of the ground motion. The method in stability analysis uses the Bishop method. The result showed that the average slope in the north block had a safety factor value of more than 1,5. The result of the slope design show that the safety factor value on the Mutiara 1 bench is 4,12; Mutiara 2 bench is 3,22; Mutiara 3 bench is 3,00; Mutiara 4 bench is 3,17; Mutiara 5 bench is 3,42; Mutiara 1 bench – Mutiara 3 bench is 2,69; Mutiara 4 bench – Mutiara 5 bench is 2,34. Based on the result of the study, it can be conclude that the level of slope stability in the north block is in a safe condition, so the production process can run well.
